About the Position

The Air Quality and Noise Specialist will play an integral role in the daily operations of the company and contribute to its overall success. This position will support the Transportation department.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years' related experience including the development air quality and noise impact analyses. This candidate and can work independently, demonstrates reliability, pro-activeness, and strong communication, and has a desire to learn or experience other technical disciplines including Transportation Planning.

The Air Quality and Noise Specialist will perform the responsibilities generally described below, as well as any additional duties as needed to support the overall objectives of the company:

Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of air quality, energy, greenhouse gas, and health risk assessments and/or noise impact analyses
Write proposals and assist with the development of discipline-related marketing materials as needed
Conduct ambient field noise measurements with the Larson Davis LxT, 720, 820 and 824 models and Extech 407780 model sound level meters in compliance with FWHA, FTA, and HUD standards
Ensure assigned project deliverables are accurate and delivered within the required timeline
Review and understand related traffic impact and CEQA/NEPA assessments as needed
Uphold EPD core values in everyday interactions with internal and external partners

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 2-4 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
Experience using air quality models including CalEEMod, EMFAC, AERMOD/AERSCREEN, and experience using noise modeling software such as FHWA, TNM, FHWA RCNM, and Sound32.
Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator and InDesign specifically), and Microsoft Suite required.
Strong technical writing skills required.
Experience with ESRI ArcPro and AutoCAD preferred.
